Guitar St-Rings

My boyfriend plays guitar, so i asked him if he could keep his old guitar strings for me, so i can DIY myself some pretty things. Today he handed me a pile of rings that he'd made which were he cutest things in the world. So i decided that i needed to share it with someone. So here's todays tutorial:

Ingredients:
- Old guitar strings
- Wire cutters (Not your best ones because they really blunt them fast)
- Ring sizer or something that's the same size as your finger (I used a nail varnish bottle that's the same size as my rings)

First get all your materials together, they're shown above. The nail varnish is the thing i'm going to size my ring around.

If you look at the end of a guitar string, you'll see the bit of the string that's been wrapped around the guitar. You'll need to cut this off because it's quite sharp and basically useless for this project.

Form a loop with the guitar string around the nail varnish bottle (Or ring sizer) You'll probably need a size bigger than your own ring size.

Wrap the ends of the guitar string through the loop that you've got and start to form a ring.

Keep going until you've formed a stable ring, don't forget to try it on from time to time to make sure that you've sized it right and it fits.

Once you've got to the point above, keep going until you get to the middle part where the ends should meet.

Twist the ends together like above quite tightly.

Then clip the ends with the pliers quite close to the base, but not so close that the ends unravel.

Wear your new ring with pride. Not only are the recycled, but they can be really personal to you, because they might be yours or your boyfriend or friends strings, so you've always got a reminder of them.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial!

Ciao for now!
